Programme 2009 - Autumn
Gilbert and
Sullivan’s hugely popular work will be followed – almost certainly
as never before - by a performance of Handel’s much loved Hallelujah
Chorus, as
part of the BBC's Sing
Hallelujah project.

In November 2008 the Burgate Singers played the part of the fictional
'Nether Bramlicote Choir' in the radio play 'Places Where They
Sing' by Ellen Dryden. The Burgate Singers were recorded on location
in Burgate Village Hall, singing music specially composed for the
play by Derek Bourgeois and providing the choir
reactions to the dramas of rehearsal !
The play - First Writes Radio Production for BBC Radio 4 - will
be broadcast on BBC Radio 4, May 22nd 2009 at 2.15pm.
