21st. April 2012 After the huge success of their December Concert in the
Corn Hall, the Burgate Singers move to Burgate Church for their Spring
Concert, where they will perform Sergei Rachmaninov’s Vespers. The All
Night Vigil – often described as his greatest musical achievement, it
was one of his own favourite compositions. The other work is Edward
Elgar’s thrilling setting, for contralto soloist and choir, of Alfred
o’Shaughnessy’s poem The Music Makers. If
you love music and singing and
like a challenge do come and join us. There are no auditions. You
don’t have to be able to sight-read. Don’t sit at home saying I
used to love singing, but I haven’t done any for ages. Come along
a give it a try. You’ll be guaranteed a warm and friendly welcome.
You’ll be surprised at what you can achieve. And you’ll have the
enormous pleasure of learning and performing wonderful music, under the
expert guidance of our conductor, Alain Judd. We
rehearse on Sundays from 4pm -7 pm in Burgate Village Hall. Why not give
it a go? For
